The Cayman Islands rugby season kicked off on Saturday, 29 Jan., with two men’s matches at the South Sound rugby pitch.

In the first match, John Doak Tradeview Markets Iguanas defeated the Queensgate Pigs Trotters 55-22 to win the 2022 Heineken Charity Spoon.

“Very proud of the guys today,” Christof Du Toit, captain of Tradeview Markets told the Cayman Compass after the match.

“We were struggling a bit for the past few years, but we were lucky enough in the draft to get a few new players, so we have a good squad now.”

Then, Fidelity Cayman Storm claimed the Heineken Charity Shield after defeating the Advance Fire Buccaneers 50-10
