Police are appealing for witnesses, after a pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run collision last Thursday.

This is the latest in a series of hit-and-run incidents police have been investigating, as they had previously noted an uptick in the number of such incidents on local roads.

The incident occurred last Thursday at the Grand Harbour roundabout in George Town at approximately 5:15pm.

Police said a male pedestrian was crossing the road, when he was struck by a vehicle.

The driver failed to stop after the collision.

The injured man was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was treated and later released, with what is believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
