Police arrested and charged a man with five drug-related offences following an operation on Little Cayman.

The arrest was made on Wednesday, 6 May, in a joint operation between police and Customs and Border Control, during which officers stopped and searched a vehicle in the early hours of the morning.

Police said that, during the search, a quantity of ganja was located in the vehicle, and the driver, a 28-year-old man who resides in Little Cayman, was arrested on suspicion of possession of ganja.

Following his arrest, officers searched the man’s home and recovered additional quantities of ganja and packages of a substance believed to be cocaine, along with drug paraphernalia, police said.

The man was arrested and transported to Grand Cayman, where he was booked into custody and charged with possession of a cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cocaine, possession of a ganja with intent to supply, possession of ganja, and possession of utensils used in the preparation or consumption of a controlled drug.

The man appeared before the court on Friday, 8 May, where he was remanded in custody.
