Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left one man unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds.
The 911 communications centre received an emergency call at approximately 1:30am Thursday, 28 April.
“When officers arrived on the scene, an unresponsive male was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the vicinity of White Sands Condos [off] West Bay Road,” 911 told the Cayman Compass.
As of 8am the man’s condition was unknown.

Residents, who wanted to remain anonymous, told the Compass they did not hear gunshots.
“I didn’t hear any shooting, but at around 1:30 I saw two SUVs pull into the parking lot of White Sands condos, then several police armed with assault rifles exited and started [to] search off over in the bushes,” said one witness.
This is the second shooting this week. On Monday, 25 April, retired prison officer Harry Elliott was shot and killed at a commercial complex off School Road in George Town.
Anyone with information about Thursday’s shooting is encouraged to call the RCIPS Major Incident Room at 649-2930. Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via the Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or through the police website.
