Cayman Islands Boxing Association president Leyla Jackson has resigned from her role due to “other obligations”, according to the Ministry of Sports.
“I am aware that the president has resigned due to other obligations,” Sports Minister Bernie Bush told the Cayman Compass on, 9 April. “[CIBA] is something that has to be monitored. Keep in mind that there’s only certain things that the government can do, and I have to make sure that I stay within those parameters.”
Alva Suckoo, who is the press officer for CIBA, confirmed to the Compass that he will be the acting president until the next general board meeting.
