The Cayman Islands’ commitment to upholding the integrity of sport is front and center this week as the minister of Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage, Isaac Rankine, arrived in Busan, Korea, for the 2025 World Conference on Doping in Sport.
Accompanied by his deputy chief officer, Dalton Watler, the minister is representing the nation at the prestigious global gathering hosted by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which runs from 1-5 Dec.
This conference brings together sports ministers and relevant stakeholders from governments worldwide, all united in the shared mission of protecting the integrity of sport and safeguarding clean competition for athletes across the globe.
The minister said that Cayman will continue its ongoing commitment to strengthening its relationship with the World Anti-Doping Agency in a Facebook post.
“We continue to be committed to strengthening our relationship with WADA, and we are engaging in constructive discussions on our shared goal of developing the legal framework needed to establish a National Anti-Doping Organization office in the Cayman Islands, we have experienced WADA’s willingness to support our country throughout this important process.”
Rankine added, “As Minister … I am committed to ensuring that our athletes compete under the highest standards of fairness, transparency and respect for clean sport. This conference offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, and bring back best practices to support our local sports community.”
