Scholars ISC will be taking on either Sunset FC or Elite SC in the Cayman Islands Football Association women’s FA Cup finals later this month.

Scholars booked a place in the finals after defeating Latinos 2-0 in their semi-final encounter Wednesday, 11 May, at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.

Arie Smith opened with a goal for Scholars 24 minutes into the match. Teammate Susani Lucas secured the game with the final goal eight minutes later.

Scholars head coach Mario Watler told the Cayman Compass after the match he is hoping to avenge his team’s earlier 4-3 loss to Sunset in the President’s Cup finals.

“Hopefully we become FA Cup champions,” he said. “Most likely we will be against Sunset. Sunset is the top team for the 2021-22 season. So, it’s always good to beat the best, in order to be called the best, but also revenge would be sweet.”
