Cayman’s top amateur golfers will be competing in a World Amateur Golf Ranking event 14-15 May at the North Sound Golf Club.

The tournament will feature some of Cayman’s top amateurs including Aaron Jarvis, who played in the US Masters at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia last month. His older brother Andrew, who is the current national champion, will also be participating, along with a host of other prominent local golfers including Payten Wight, Danny Lyne, Barry Daly, Giles Hobday and Cameron Leitch.

The Ritz-Carlton hotel golf professionals Tim Dwyer and Oliver Riding will also be taking part.

The tournament, comprising 18 holes on Saturday and 36 holes on Sunday, is an official event for WAGR and eligible participants will earn ranking points, moving them up in the standings.

The event is the second of a series planned for the year, to be held at both the North Sound Golf Club and The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. Andrew Jarvis took the first event, held in February, ahead of Danny Lyne and Payten Wight in second and third, respectively.
