In a bid to address continuing delays in processing work permits, Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman has said, with immediate effect, incomplete applications will not be accepted.
The department has also advised that there may be delays in providing in-person services at its Apollo House office Thursday and is encouraging individuals submitting more than two applications to pay online via the JobsCayman Stand Alone Payment portal.
In a brief statement on Wednesday, WORC said that applicants are responsible for providing the required information for an application to be processed in a timely manner.
“WORC endeavors to improve customer service by reducing the time spent processing incomplete applications. This will allow for better efficiency in the turnaround time for customers who submit completed applications,” it said.
Applications are considered incomplete if sections of the form are not completed; personal details such as name, address, telephone number, email address are missing; signatures are not affixed; all required documents on the checklist have not been submitted with each application; and the Trade & Business Licence (if applicable) is not included.
Additionally, if English language test results, police records, vaccinations cards, health insurance or pension plan details are missing, the application will be deemed incomplete and therefore will not be accepted for processing.
WORC is encouraging customers to visit www.worc.ky to review application checklists before submitting applications at the WORC Apollo House office or via the online Stand Alone Payment portal. For more information email [email protected] or call 945-9672.
