The Cayman Islands Air Show, originally scheduled for 3-4 June as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration weekend, has been postponed until further notice due to the forecasted weather of heavy rain and intermittent thunderstorms for the rest of the week, a press release from the Department of Tourism stated.
“The decision was made for the safety of Air Show participants, local and overseas, and the public by the Civil Aviation Authority and Department of Tourism, the organisers of the Air Show, and supported by the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Steering Committee,” the DoT said.
The air show is among several outdoor events planned for the long weekend, which may also be facing postponement due to the inclement weather.
New dates for the air show will be announced in the coming weeks and updates will be shared on the air show website, CaymanAirShow.com, as well as its Facebook and Instagram pages.
