A Cayman Brac man was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to face charges of wounding and threats to kill, among others, after a violent assault on Monday.
The victim in the incident, police said, received a cut to her face.
The incident occurred shortly after 8pm on Monday at an address on Cayman Brac.
Police said it was reported that a man and woman known to each other had been involved in an altercation, during which the man brandished a knife and cut the woman on her face.
The man left the location before police arrived.
Emergency services transported the injured woman to Faith Hospital by ambulance for treatment. She was subsequently discharged.
On Wednesday, officers arrested the 53-year-old man on suspicion of wounding, threats to kill, possession of an offensive weapon, causing fear or provocation of violence, and breach of a probation order.
