Outdoor children’s parks and playgrounds in the Cayman Islands

With Cayman’s year-round good weather, children are spoilt for choice when it comes to outdoor play options. Here’s our list of spots, whether full playgrounds or just green spaces, in each district.

Scholars Park, West Bay

Amenities: Shady areas, a large sandy playground with full play equipment and expansive grassy areas for kids to play. Parking, water and utilities, BBQ pits and picnic area are also on site.

Teacher Al Al Park, West Bay

Amenities: Cabana, swing set, slide, benches.

Where: Boatswains Bay Road near the lighthouse, Grand Cayman

Teacher Al Al Park has a slide and swingset.

Garvin Park, West Bay

Amenities: Small play set, cabanas, boat ramp, toilets.

Where: Garvin Road, next to Dolphin Cove, Grand Cayman

Seven Mile Beach Park

Amenities: Multiple play areas, slides, swings, climbing frames toilets, nearby cabanas, toddler bucket swings, ample parking, short walk to restaurants.

Where: Public Beach, West Bay Road, Cayman Islands

Camana Bay Fountains

Perfect for a hot day, there are two play fountain areas at Camana Bay. In Jasmine Court, outside the cinema and usually favoured by younger children and babies, and at The Crescent, adjacent to the canal, where older children visit. Benefits from nearby toilets, restaurants, shops and grassy areas.

Watler’s Road Community Park

Amenities: Playground, cabanas, BBQ pits. Close to restaurants and supermarket.

Where: Corner of Eastern Avenue and West Bay Road, Grand Cayman

Neil Godfrey Park/Washington Blvd.

Amenities: Parking, cabanas, BBQ pits and picnic areas, volleyball court.

Where: Eastern Avenue, behind Footsteps. Cayman Islands

Success Circle Park

Amenities: Playground, BBQ pits and picnic area

Where: Success Circle, Palm Dale Avenue off Crewe Road, Grand Cayman

Windsor Park

Amenities: Playground equipment, basketball court, picnic area.

Where: Windsor Park Road

A slide, swingset and basketball court can be found in WIndsor Park

Dart Family Park

Amenities: Full children’s playground, shade, cabanas, benches, water fountains, toilets, large park area, seaside amphitheatre.

Where: South Church Street

Airport Park

Amenities: Toilets, toddler bucket swing, slides, climbing frames, seesaw, hard court, airplane spotting. Close to Foster’s. 

Where: Dorcy Drive, Grand Cayman

Cecile Crighton Community Park

Amenities: Seating areas, tables and benches, trees and landscaping, swings, barbecue pit, restrooms, a basketball court and full playground equipment.

Where: Chime Street and Mocking Bird Crescent, Spotts Newlands

The Cecile Crighton Spotts Newlands Community Park is large and very well kept.

Newlands Heights Park

Amenities: Basketball court, cabanas, BBQ pit, football green area, no playground equipment.

Where: Hemlock Way, off Moonbeam Drive, Savannah, Grand Cayman

Moonbeam Park

Amenities: Small children’s playground equipment, cabana, half basketball court.

Where: Moonbeam Drive, Savannah

North Sound Gardens Park

Amenities: Playset, BBQ pit, cabana, basketball court.

Where: Bayfield Crescent, North Sound Estates, Cayman Islands

 

Harold McCoy Sr. Park

Amenities: BBQ pits and picnic area, large playground equipment and bird-watching area.

Where: Gun Square, Bodden Town, Grand Cayman

Harry McCoy Snr. Park in Bodden Town has impressive playground equipment

Breakers Park

Amenities: Parking, BBQ pits, picnic area, playground equipment.

Where: Bodden Town Road, opposite Lighthouse Restaurant

Jerald Smith Park

Amenities: BBQ pits, picnic area and playground equipment. 

Where: Hutland Road, off North Side Road 

Frank Sound Park

Amenities: BBQ pits and picnic area, playground equipment, hard court.

Where: Frank Sound Road

Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park

Amenities: Paid access. The new Children’s Garden features a splash pad, observation tower and discovery pond, with many other features soon to come.

Where: Off Frank Sound Road

The QEII Botanic Park Children's Garden has a splash pad and observation tower amongst other attractions.

Captain George Dixon Park

Amenities: BBQ pits, picnic area, playground equipment.

Where: Sea View Road

Cayman Parrot Sanctuary

Amenities: Paid access. Animals (parrots, agoutis, snakes, hickatees, birds, goats and more), playground area. Toilets, food available for order from nearby Tukka, complimentary juice and bug spray.

Where: Austin Conolly Drive, Grand Cayman

Cayman Parrot Sanctuary also has a range of animals to explore.
