Mason claims second win for the season

Cayman racer Josh Mason took first place over the weekend in the reverse-grid race during the Euroformula Open, in Imola, Italy.

It’s the second time this season that Mason, a CryptoTower Racing Team member, has grabbed gold, having won in July at the Euroformula in Mogyoród, Hungary.

High school football league to kick off

The Cayman Youth Football League has announced that the 2022 Dart girls and boys under-13 high school football leagues will start next week.

On Wednesday, 14 Sept., the girls’ league will kick off followed by the boys’ league the next day. The leagues will consist of seven high schools, which will play against one another until the mid-term break in October.

Vanguard Fun Run Series set for the weekend

The first of three series of the Vanguard Fun Run is set for Saturday, 10 Sept. The charity 5-mile run will begin at 7:30am, on Walkers Road, opposite the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre.

The next two races will be held 17 and 24 Sept. All proceeds will go to Acts of Random Kindness.

National Volleyball League to open

The Cayman Islands Volleyball Federation 2022 National Volleyball League is set to begin on Saturday, 17 Sept.

The games, which will feature a male, female and school division, will take place at the Arts and Recreation Centre in Camana Bay, every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Marshall and Shields set to headline historic card

Bitter rivals Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall go head-to-head in an historic undisputed showdown as they headline Britain’s first all-female boxing card on Saturday, 10 Sept.

Shields puts her middleweight WBC, WBA, IBF and Ring Magazine titles on the line, while Marshall brings her WBO belt to the table.
