Bodden Town resident Noel Manning, who was initially reported as a missing person back in June, has now been declared a wanted man by police in connection with sexual offences.
Police, in a statement Tuesday afternoon, announced the change in Manning’s status, saying “he is no longer considered missing but is believed to be in hiding from authorities”.
Further information on the alleged offences was not provided.
On 26 June, relatives reported him missing saying that the 53-year-old man had been last seen on 24 June.
Police said officers conducted inquiries and Manning was subsequently reported to have been seen by family members on 27 June; however, he had not been seen by police.
The RCIPS is now appealing for the public’s assistance in locating him.
He is described as short, of slim build and brown complexion, and bald with white facial hair. He is also known to go by the nicknames “Indian,” “Doc” and “Doctor.”
Police said he is known to frequent the Bodden Town area and may be living in unfinished or abandoned structures.
The RCIPS has reminded the public that, according to the Police Act (2021 Revision), it is an offence to obstruct, mislead or act in such a way as to prevent the apprehension of a person who has committed an offence.
“If prosecuted under this section, you may be liable on conviction to a fine of $5,000 or imprisonment for two years or both,” the RCIPS said in a statement.
Anyone with information on Manning’s whereabouts is asked to contact 9-1-1, or Bodden Town CID at 947-2220.
