Police arrest man for harbouring missing teen girl

Police have arrested a 20-year-old man for harbouring a missing 14-year-old teenage girl, who they also arrested for assaulting officers who were attempting to return her to her home.

According to a statement issued by police on Sunday, the girl, from Bodden Town, was found at an address in Prospect, after being reported missing on 7 Nov.

The RCIPS said she was taken into safe custody, and was later arrested for assaulting police and related offences. She was subsequently granted bail.

Police said a man at the Prospect address where the girl was found was arrested on suspicion of harbouring a young person, and for resisting arrest, in addition to outstanding warrants.

The 20-year-old man, from George Town, remained in police custody Sunday as investigations continued by RCIPS Protective Services.

Police thanked the public for their assistance in locating the girl.
