A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of Geroge Ian Duffell.

According to police, the 53-year-old man from Bodden Town was arrested on Sunday, on suspicion of murder.

The suspect is also said to have “outstanding warrants” and remains in police custody while the investigation is ongoing.

On 15 Oct., a 42-year-old man was the first to be arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.

Duffell, 51, was stabbed to death around 11pm on Friday, 14 Oct. on Birch Tree Hill Road. A police press release at the time indicated he had been killed following an “altercation” in the vicinity of Captains Joe and Osbert Road.

Duffell’s niece, Melissa Rankine Seymour told the Compass she had a “lot of great memories” of her uncle.

Asking for the community to come forward and assist police with their investigation, she paid tribute to Duffell.

“Everywhere he went, he made friends and people just automatically fell in love with him. He had that type of persona. He was fearless. Nothing scared him. No one intimidated him,” she said.
