A 65-year-old cruise ship passenger in need of medical attention was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment after intervention from the Coast Guard last weekend.
According to information released by police, on Sunday, the cruise liner Marella Discovery 2 was just over 150 nautical miles from Grand Cayman when it asked the Coast Guard to assist in transporting the man to the nearest medical facility.
The CICG patrol vessel Mark Luke brought the patient and his wife from the ship to the Royal Watler Terminal, in George Town.
The CICG team were then met by the Emergency Medical Service, who transported the man and his wife to hospital by ambulance.
