One of the two drivers in Saturday’s two-vehicle collision on Shamrock Road remains in critical condition at hospital while the other has been released, police have said.
That incident is one of two collisions under investigation by the RCIPS, the other being a fatal crash in Bodden Town on Saturday that took the life of a 50-year-old man.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on 11 Nov. at about 1:45am on Shamrock Road, by Grand Harbour, and involved a silver Chevrolet Colorado and a silver Honda Fit.
Police said the vehicles collided when the Honda Fit was travelling westbound in the eastbound lane.
The drivers of both vehicles were injured. However, the police said the injuries of the Honda Fit driver appeared to be life-threatening.
Both drivers were transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment.
Police said the driver of the Honda Fit remains in critical condition, while the driver of the Chevrolet has since been discharged.
Meanwhile, police said inquiries into the fatal crash that occurred shortly after 3pm Saturday are continuing.

The single-vehicle collision, involving a Ford F-350, happened on Bodden Town Road, between Bronte Way and Longfellow Circle in the area of Midland Acres.
Police said the vehicle left the roadway and hit a concrete utility pole.
Emergency services attended the location and members of the Cayman Islands Fire Service extracted the driver from the vehicle.
The driver was transported by ambulance to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
Both accidents are being investigated by the Traffic & Roads Policing Unit and anyone with any information is asked to call 649-6254.
