Small webcams are mounted all over Grand Cayman – and the live videos are available online for anyone to view.

The devices are mainly owned by beachfront resorts, while the Port Authority of the Cayman Islands also publishes regularly updated still photos online.

If you’re a resident, you may want to see what the weather is like on the other side of the island or how big the waves are before you set out for the day of swimming or snorkelling.

Or maybe you live elsewhere in the world and you’re wistfully looking at the beauty of Cayman, with its stunning scenery and wildlife, as you plan your next adventure.

The videos are also useful for big weather events, such as tropical storms and cyclones, to allow observers to keep an eye on progression and damage.

Cayman’s webcams:

There are two webcams pointing to the east and west outside The Westin on Seven Mile Beach, which can be accessed at: https://sunshinesuites.com/live-webcam.

Another webcam is outside Cracked Conch restaurant in West Bay and can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/embed/live_stream?channel=UCePVN6hU6iNte6fna7QITDw.

Coral Stone Club has two webcams which, although slightly misty give a good live view up and down Seven Mile Beach. They can be accessed here: https://www.coralstoneclub.com/photo-gallery/beachcams.

Beachcomber Grand Cayman on West Bay Road also has a webcam looking out to Seven Mile Beach on its website, at https://beachcombergrandcayman.com/location/.

The resort’s site says: “With our live feed camera, you can immerse yourself in the mesmerising sights of Seven Mile Beach from the Beachcomber, no matter your location.

“Witness the enchanting fusion of the crystal-clear turquoise waters gently caressing the pristine, white sandy shores while majestic palm trees sway gracefully in the warm Caribbean breeze.”

The Port Authority has eight webcams at its George Town Port, and although live video is not available, the website posts updated still images online just seconds apart. The images can be accessed at https://www.caymanport.com/webcams/.
