UK Minister Andrew Sharpe of Epsom is slated to visit the Cayman Islands for three days, beginning Tuesday, 6 Feb.

Sharpe became the parliamentary under secretary of state for the home office in September 2022, and he is primarily responsible for public safety and national security legislative matters.

The minister plans to meet with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, Customs and Border Control, the Cayman Islands Coast Guard, Hazard Management Cayman Islands and Premier Juliana O’Connor-Connolly during his trip, according to a press release.

Sharpe aims to “understand the law enforcement and illicit migration challenges faced by the jurisdiction and explore what further support the UK can offer,” the release stated.

The other main focus of his visit will be crisis preparedness.
