After fighting during the Hvidovre Box Cup tournament, in Denmark, Caymanian heavyweight boxer Christopher Hurlston was back in the ring six days later in Nottingham, England, against the undefeated prospect Wisdom Oviawe.

Despite the quick turnaround, the Henry Wharton’s Gym standout earned the decision win. With the victory, Hurlston improved his record to 8-2.

His win came on the same night as his younger brother, Isaiah Hurlston, made his amateur debut at home at the ‘Steven Ross Memorial Boxing Show’.

“I was more proud of him than my own victory on the night,” Hurlston told the Compass. “[I] stayed up until 6am watching him, [I] was shouting as if I was in the stands myself.”

Certainly fighting runs in the blood for the Hurlston brothers. Each will be looking to stay fight-ready for when the next event rolls around.
