A group of nine golfers will represent Cayman at the 2024 Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships in Jamaica from 1-6 July.

The local team, coached by Tim Dwyer and assistant coach Holly McLean, will challenge golfers from eight other Caribbean countries at the Caymanas Golf Club.

“We are sending a very competitive team this year as we look to build upon the success of a strong performance at last year’s championship hosted in Cayman,” Daniel Fortune, president of the Cayman Islands Golf Association, told the Compass.

In the 11-13 age group, golfers Katie Walton, Marko Rando and Hunter Kassam will represent. Josh Dickens will be Cayman’s sole golfer in the 14-15 age group and the 16-plus category will feature Manon Guilbard, Bethany Hawkins, Daniel De Quintal (team captain), Sam McLean and Luke Dodson.

Fortune wished the team the “best of luck” while also thanking sponsors for their continued support, which allows the Cayman golfers to attend overseas tournaments.
