Members of the Jamaica Defence Force and Jamaica National Reserve will be joining the Cayman Islands Regiment in a series of exercises this weekend.

Members of the two Jamaican forces sailed into Cayman on board the HMJS Norman Manley patrol vessel on Friday, 13 Sept. They will remain in Cayman until Sunday.

Colonel Roger Carter from the Cayman Islands Regiment and Cayman Islands Coast Guard Commandant Robert Scotland greeted them upon arrival in George Town Friday morning.

As well as 27 crew members on board the Norman Manley, 14 personnel from the reserve force and six from the defence force are visiting Cayman.

Alerting the public to the presence of the forces, a government press release stated, “During this period, there may be an increased military activity in certain public areas.
