Sisters Jennifer Stein and Carrie Chaloner, who own the Garden Playschool Group, are set to launch their second early childhood school in the Cayman Islands. They currently own Sprogs, a school located on Walkers Road in George Town.
“We are passionate about early childhood education, and we have a long waiting list for people wanting to enroll at Sprogs, so we decided to build a new school in West Bay,” Stein said.
Chaloner added, “We strive to create a home away from home where nature, nurture and play come together, to support every child’s growth.
“Our educators are experts in child development and masters at making learning fun. Our goal is to foster personal, social and emotional development, helping children grow into confident, empathetic and capable individuals.”
The school is designed for children aged 12 months to five years old and is scheduled to open for the 2025-2026 school year starting in September 2025. They have already started taking applications.
A press release describes the new facility as “state of the art” and “designed to encourage exploration, creativity, and discovery”.

One of the more unique features of the new school is the option for children to be enrolled in the Spanish-immersion programme.
“This gives children the opportunity to absorb a new language with all of the cognitive benefits that this provides to young people,” Chaloner said.
“The playschool will feature serene indoor spaces that are clean, organised, and welcoming, with natural timber finishes, vibrant plants, and soft ambient lighting. There will also be a well-shaded outdoor environment with safe climbing areas, outdoor worktables, green spaces, and an organic vegetable garden.”
Kiddiewinks will also offer flexible programme options, including full-day, half-day morning, and school-day schedules.
Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is open while the playschool undergoes the application process to be fully registered as an educational institution providing early childhood care and full-time compulsory education in a Year One equivalent class only in the Cayman Islands.
