Police are investigating how one of their officers crashed his car into a wall while responding to a call on Saturday afternoon.

The single vehicle collision occurred around 1:15pm on Bodden Town Road. The on-duty police officer, driving the marked police car, hit the wall and caused damage to the front of the vehicle and the wall.

In a statement issued on Saturday night, an RCIPS spokesperson said the officer was attended to by Emergency Medical Services and transported to the hospital, where he was treated for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

Police said, in accordance with RCIPS policies and procedures, the officer was breath tested and the results were negative.

“Investigations into this collision are ongoing,” police said.
