A machete-wielding masked man escaped with cash and other items after raiding a convenience store in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The robber threatened the cashier and demanded cash. The man escaped on foot with cash and other items, the RCIPS said in a news release.
No one was injured.
The incident happened at about 1:50am at a shop on George Town’s Eastern Avenue, near the junction with Godfrey Nixon Way.
The raider was said to be of slim build, with cornrow braids and a brown complexion and wearing light coloured clothes.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
