Compass TV will launch on Monday morning, bringing local television back to the heart of the Cayman Islands.

Part of Compass Media, it will be the first privately owned TV station on-island since 2019.

Programming begins with Daybreak at 7am, which features a mixture of news, entertainment, sport, weather and other subjects of local interest.

This will be followed by updates at the top of each hour, then Compass News at 5pm (repeated at 6pm and 7pm), which will focus on the events of the day, as well as in-depth coverage of topical issues. There will also be a weekly politics show with veteran broadcaster Tammi Sulliman on Thursday evenings at 7pm.

Compass TV can be watched live via Logic – channel 22, C3 – channel 22, FLOW – channel 102 and Digicel – channel 9. All shows can also be streamed online at compasstv.ky.

The online service means that Caymanians living abroad – and others with an interest in the islands – can tune in at any time from overseas.

Viewers should expect compelling visual storytelling, along with robust journalism looking into current affairs and issues affecting Cayman. There will also be a focus on community and lifestyle.

Additionally, there will be special election coverage in the coming weeks, as the people of the Cayman Islands prepare to vote in a new government at the end of April.

“We are very excited to bring local television back the Cayman Islands,” said Tripp Donnelly, publisher and head of Compass Media. “Staffed by mostly Caymanian journalists and production crew, Compass TV will be a mirror for the many issues that matter to these islands. It will also celebrate the unique culture and heritage of Cayman.”

More programming is expected to be added to Compass TV at a later date.
