Miss Earth Cayman Islands coronation
Latecia Bush was crowned as the 2025 Miss Earth Cayman Islands ambassador on 4 May at Thatch & Barrel at Pedro St. James.
As part of the festivities, 100 seeds were gifted to attendees, donated by Caribbean Blooms in partnership with EarthDay.Org under their Regenerative Agriculture Initiative. Bush commemorated the first day of her reign, as well as Emancipation Day, by planting seeds at the Francis Bodden Girls Home Greenhouse.
“Emancipation is about liberation, but it’s also about legacy. By planting seeds, we honour the past while investing in a thriving, sustainable Cayman for tomorrow,” said a Miss Earth Cayman Islands representative.
This year marks the return of the Miss Earth Cayman Islands pageant franchise, after a 15 year-hiatus.
Derry Lee is franchise holder, supported by a committee which includes National Director Latrese Haylock, former Miss World Cayman Islands 2021 Roshana Hydes, former Miss Universe Cayman Islands 2020 Mariah Tibbetts, and executive committee member Jhmeil Walton.
