Workforce Opportunities and Residency Cayman has urged Caymanian job seekers to utilise its jobs portal so that it can hold employers accountable.
“Under current regulations, every job vacancy in the Cayman Islands must be posted on the WORC Jobs Portal,” it said in a press release. “This means that it is not just the most trusted source of employment opportunities – it’s the only platform that allows WORC to verify that Caymanians are being considered first, as the law requires.”
The agency, known as WORC, said in its press release that it’s in the best interest of Caymanian job seekers to use its jobs portal.
“It’s the only way to ensure your application counts,” the press release stated. “The WORC Jobs Portal offers a range of advantages specifically for Caymanians actively seeking employment.”
It stated that the jobs portal was official and secure and that all of the job postings were verified and aligned with Cayman Islands labour policies “ensuring authenticity and compliance”.
In addition, it said the jobs portal was visible to the boards approving work permits, gave Caymanians access to opportunities and offers a streamlined application process that allows users to submit, track and manage their job applications “easily and securely from one centralised location”.
“By using the official WORC Jobs Portal, Caymanian job seekers ensure their applications are visible, recognised and fully compliant with national hiring protocols,” the press release stated. “WORC, the Work Permit Board and Business Staffing Plan Board through the WORC Jobs Portal are able to monitor and track when Caymanians apply to vacancies. This accountability helps ensure that Caymanians are prioritised. In order to prevent fraudulent information, users should avoid engaging with advertisements outside of the WORC system, such as unofficial job boards, social media posts or third-party recruiters promising employment.”
To use the WORC portal, job seekers should create an account at www.worc.ky and then complete their profile, including uploading all required documents. Once registered, users can browse job listings across a wide range of sectors and apply directly through the portal for roles that match their skills and interests. The portal also has an “inbox” that allows them to check for any communications from potential employers.
“WORC is committed to empowering Caymanians with direct access to employment opportunities and to ensuring the safe and compliant facilitation of all applications for jobs posted on our portal,” the press release stated.
Portal users who have any concerns about the legitimacy of a posted job are asked to report it to WORC’s Compliance Team at 945-9672 or via email at worc[email protected].
