The article on COP30 is more excellent reporting by the Cayman Compass. Congratulations!
It should be noted, however, that Cayman’s cruise tourism is also a major emitter of CO2 pollution.
Considering that this industry is now firmly weaved into Cayman’s economic ecosystem, it should be clear to many Caymanians that the islands also have a lot of responsibility for (and participation in) the global carbon footprint.
The cruise ship industry is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions.
Not only is this pollution a contributor to global climate change, it is also toxic for the Cayman Islands population who are in the direct ‘line of fire’ of this poisonous fallout.
More inward reflection is needed by Cayman and its leaders to address with urgency how to reduce such CO2 emissions coming from its own shores!
