The 2026 BK Big Fish tournament wrapped up on 16 March after three days of competitive angling that saw 405 participants across 93 teams.

From 12 March, through the final weigh-in, more than 4,300 pounds of fish were brought to the scales at the George Town Yacht Club.

Nearly 100 fish were officially recorded, including yellowfin tuna, wahoo, barracuda and mahi-mahi, alongside several blue marlin releases that contributed to the event’s overall tally.

In the yellowfin tuna category, Karina Leveque secured the top position with an 81.4-pound catch.

She was followed by Jennifer Skrinska, who claimed second place with a 78.8-pound tuna, and Lindo McGowan, who finished third with 65.8 pounds.

The wahoo division also saw a competitive spread of weights, led by Cailom Packe’s first-place catch of 56.8 pounds.

Jack Moore took the second-place spot in the category at 49.6 pounds, while Douglas Ebanks rounded out the top three with a 47.6-pounds.

After a previous year when no mahi-mahi were brought to the scales, Allison Briggs recorded the sole catch for the species this year, weighing in at 24.4 pounds.

Franklin Thompson, president of the Cayman Islands Angling Club, said, “The weather cooperated … and there were a lot of fish caught and blue marlins released … so it was a very successful event.”
