The Cayman Islands Football Association will once again host a round of the CONCACAF International Friendly Series, welcoming men’s national teams from the Bahamas, British Virgin Islands and Anguilla.
The matches, taking place at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex, will see Cayman face the British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas as part of Group D of the regional friendly competition.
Cayman will take on the British Virgin Islands at 7pm on 26 March before closing out the series against the Bahamas at 7pm on Sunday, 29 March.
Alongside Cayman’s matches, the Bahamas will face Anguilla at 4:30pm on 26 March, while the British Virgin Islands will meet Anguilla at 4:30pm on 29 March.
“Hosting this series again is a great opportunity for us. International matches are incredibly important for the development of our programme. Playing at home allows our players to compete in front of our supporters while we continue building chemistry within the squad and evaluating players as we prepare for upcoming competitions,” said Dougie Rowe, Cayman’s men’s national team head coach.
The upcoming fixtures represent the second round of the CONCACAF International Friendly Series hosted in Cayman.
During the first series, held last November, the Cayman men’s national squad split its two matches – falling 2–1 to the British Virgin Islands before rebounding with a 4–0 victory over Anguilla.
“That November window also provided important opportunities for squad development, including several senior national team debuts and valuable match minutes as the programme continues building toward regional competitions in 2026,” said a Cayman Islands Football Association press release.
This series will again bring together the four Group D teams in a compact schedule designed to provide competitive international fixtures during the FIFA window.
“The CONCACAF International Friendly Series is designed to give member associations meaningful international matches, allowing teams to gain experience and preparation ahead of upcoming competitions,” the release added.
