Twelve new customs officers began their basic training last week after joining the service following a recruitment drive.

A Cayman Islands customs officer and a Cayman Airways employee have been arrested on suspicion of importing ganja, Customs Collector Charles Clifford confirmed Monday.

Two people were detained at the Owen Roberts International Airport Monday for importing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Fourteen Customs officers have graduated after completing four months of training.The average grade was 83 percent, according to a press release.
