EDITORIAL – A failing grade for Cayman’s drivers’ tests
We don’t know if the DVDL considers the test to be more than a decades-old joke, but we can assure them, the public is not laughing. With this kind of failure rate – and the presence of outlandish, irrelevant questions – surely someone exists within the agency who is not asleep at the proverbial wheel.
Nearly half fail Cayman drivers’ license test
The failure rate in the written drivers’ license tests taken last year was almost 50 percent, according to Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing records.

Those seeking new Cayman Islands drivers’ licenses are being told they may have to wait between two and three months before they can take a road test at the Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing on Grand Cayman.
