Cayman Islands Speaker of the House McKeeva Bush has abandoned an attempt via the American courts to retrieve years’ worth of emails and other documents from a U.K. Foreign and Commonwealth Office employee as part of a lawsuit Mr. Bush filed in 2015 claiming wrongful prosecution.

Former Cayman Islands Governor Duncan Taylor has effectively been served with a civil lawsuit by West Bay MLA and Opposition Leader McKeeva Bush, according to a Grand Court judgment issued this week.

Cayman Islands Governor Helen Kilpatrick has confirmed that she will “opt” for a four-year term as official head of state in the islands, meaning her time in office will extend to September 2017.
