Overseas Christmas shopping is set to become a little cheaper with the doubling of the duty-free allowance over the festive period. 

Residents who return from overseas trips over the Christmas break will get an extra $500 added to their duty-free allowance, the government announced.

Residents returning from an overseas trip can bring an extra $500 worth of personal and household goods into Cayman without paying duty this festive season.

Cayman’s upgraded airport will feature many of the same shops and restaurants as the old facility, as well as a few new additions.
