The Cayman Islands Girls Under 15 National Football Team defeated the Bahamas 4-1 in their opening Group E game Monday at the CONCACAF Girls’ Under 15 Championships at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Home cooking could not bring the Cayman U-15 national football team a victory on Thursday. The Cayman team made its debut at the U-15 Youth Football Cup and fell on the wrong side of a 4-0 score against IMG Academy in its first competitive game.

Funding cuts to Cayman’s national football program have not spared the game’s youngest players. The junior Under-15 national team has taken on fundraising efforts to allow them to continue competing internationally.

Justin Hastings won the championship in the 11-14 Boys Division at the IMG Junior Golf Tournament hosted by IMG Academy at Ocala National Golf Club in Florida on March 4 and 5.
