Mango growers and Department of Agriculture staff are expecting a bumper crop of the fruit this year as trees are in full bloom throughout all three Cayman Islands.

Wandering through Cayman’s farmers’ markets or grocery aisles, you may have noticed an exciting addition to the usual fruit and veg on display: ripe local mangos.

Mangoes were the center of attention this month when the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park held its first mango fair. The event on July 1 was spearheaded by the Tourism Attraction Board to expand on the park’s annual tree sale.

The weekend’s Mango Festival was a juicy affair for locals and tourists alike at the National Museum on Harbour Drive.
