Topic: PAWS in the Sand

Cayman’s animal lovers gathered Saturday at the historic Grand Old House restaurant in support of the Protection of Animal Welfare Society.

This edition of Weekender Spotlight is all about ... feet? Well, not exactly, but Weekender Editor Vicki Wheaton does preview upcoming events including the local production of "Barefoot in the Park," the Special Needs Foundation's Barefoot Beach Gala, PAWS in the Sand and the Cayman Crisis Centre's Walk in Her Shoes.

PAWS in the Sand, an annual event that raises money for animals in need in the eastern districts, was held at the White House in Bodden Town on Saturday night.

Dog lovers are spoiled for choices at this time of year, it seems, as there are doggie events scheduled almost every weekend around Cayman. Last weekend, it was the Humane Society’s Furball and PAWS in the Sand, and on Sunday it’s the CARE K9 5K Dog Jog.
