This year’s bodybuilding season has been bittersweet for Caymanian star Robert Thompson Jr., who has been winning competitions in honour of his friend who succumbed to her mental battles this year.

Caymanian bodybuilder Robert Thompson Jr. couldn't be denied on Saturday, at the prestigious Mr. America competition – with the seven judges unanimous in scoring him the winner.

Caymanian athletes had a breakthrough year in 2022, amassing gold medals, breaking records and even being crowned the best in the world. The noteworthy performances spanned a variety of disciplines including swimming, golf, bodybuilding and track and field, resulting in a sporting year that will not soon be forgotten for these world-beating athletes from a tiny island in the Caribbean.

All the years of lifting and dieting is paying off for Caymanian bodybuilder Robert Thompson Jr., who captured his second Pro Card.

Robert Thompson is growing accustomed to posing triumphantly atop the podium. Thompson, in just his second year as a competitive bodybuilder, was named the amateur world champion at the Drug Free Athletes Coalition World Finals in Miami last week.
