Container policies eased

Dedicated, full containers can be taken directly from the Port Authority dock to major importers.

It’s a Port Authority move to continue the effort to ease shipping demands.

‘This new service has been initiated as yet another strategy to ease the demands and to meet the needs of consumers, by expediting the delivery of large volumes of cargo,’ said Chairman of the Port Authority McKeeva Bush, said.

Upon Customs clearance and discharge, these containers will be taken to commercial importers who have made prior transport arrangements.

However, in order to use this option, the respective companies must first be registered, either directly at the Port Authority Administration Building on Harbour Drive, or through their trucking companies.
