Cayman Islands bouncing back

For the Caribbean Marketplace in Jamaica at the start of the year, the Cayman Islands Tourism Association boasted a balloon filled booth displaying ‘Cayman Islands Bouncing Back’.

According to a press release from the CITA, the major role played was informing the industry on the status of the islands as well as the availability of accommodations, restaurants, attractions, transportation, etc.

‘The show was a resounding success for the Association and its members as the industry was shown a power point presentation of the island and the progress made to date, as well as providing awareness of the islands and member services.

‘In this follow up release, the CITA would like to publicly list open and available CITA members for tourists. CITA is happy to say once again that the Sister Island properties and tourism related business’ are all open and available for tourists. For persons interested in visiting the Sister Islands, please visit www.sisterislands.com.

CITA President Mr. Mark Bastis acknowledges that ‘due to a good working relationship between the government and the private sector, the island is cleaned up and we are excited about welcoming guests back.

‘Feedback from guests thus far has been tremendous and positive.’ Mr. Bastis went on to encourage trade members to check with their travel and on-island partners as many are providing special offers for the trade to get reacquainted with the different product and services. Mr. Bastis would also like to remind the trade on the upcoming CITE on April 13-16, 2005.

CITA has 240 members, which include accommodations, watersports, restaurants, transportation, and allied members. It is important to note that there are other tourist affiliated businesses on island that are non CITA members and will not be reflected in this release.
