Letter to the editor: There is no need for fear

Please allow me to use your newspaper to address the following letter to my fellow Christians in the Cayman Islands.

This is a reminder for those of us who are born again and living in Christ Jesus. Day after day I hear about people who are worried, afraid and stressed out, who I think feel that God does not love them anymore.

As we know, that is not true. He cannot stop loving us because we have no one else to love us. Have people forgotten what Jesus said to his disciples concerning the disasters that would happen during the end time?

This is what has been taking place. For those of us who are in Christ Jesus, remember that we are the people who he prophesied over when He said ‘I build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’ And He also prayed for us when He prayed thanking the Father for His disciples and He said that He was also praying for those you would hear His words through His disciples and believe them.

When we read the bible, God gave His son, Jesus Christ, for the remission of our sins but we have our choice to accept Him as our Lord and Saviour or not to accept Him. He holds all the power and authority in heaven and on earth.

He also made the statement ‘No one cometh to the Father but by me,’ which is the truth, and ‘no one comes to me but that the Father brings him to me,’ which is also the truth.

Today He is merely treated as a figurehead. The only thing that can make us the righteousness of God and save us from our sins is the blood of Jesus Christ, yet it has been trampled like nothing. It seems that people need only to dress a certain way and join an organization of their choice to be righteous. The blood of Jesus is being pleaded all over the place, yet the names of God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and His word are being made of no effect, because the spirit of truth is not being asked to be the teacher. The kingdom of heaven that He spoke about that He brought to earth when He said ‘the kingdom is at hand’ is not taught.

Overall Jesus is not being honoured.

Anyone is taking the supper, which is representative of His body and blood. He said Himself ‘the Father judges no one but has committed all judgement to the son that all shall honour the Son just as they honour the Father. He that does no honour the Son dose not honours the Father that sent him.’ When Jesus said ‘I am the way, the truth and the life,’ it was not a figure of speech; it was reality.

We were also told to be aware of false prophets and apostles. Paul, who was called to be an apostle by Jesus Christ and God, wrote these words: ‘But what I do I will also continue to do that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things in which they boast for such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan he transforms himself into an angel of light; therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness whose end will be according to their works.’

So with the hurricane and the storms and the earthquake, this too is taking place.

No wonder people are afraid, stressed out and worried because the gospel of Jesus Christ is not being preached. People go to worship in these conditions and return home with the same conditions. If the gospel was being preached the way it ought to be preached, the people wouldn’t be fearful because it is not about us, it is all about what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross.

So, my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, we have nothing to be afraid of, worried or stressed out about.

We are the real believers and we were chosen before the foundation. His church is a spiritual church being built with holy stones.

We are not an organization being led by man or woman, but by the spirit of trust Himself.

We are into the heavenly kingdom that Jesus brought to earth. We are in the world but not of the world.

All our needs are being met where our lifestyle is living by faith and not by sight. Our worship is not on a special day, but is a lifestyle.

One more thing; don’t forget we were told to come out form among the unbelievers. Get up and get out; there are a lot of sinners to be won for the kingdom.

Our High Priest, Jesus Christ, did not spend his three years preaching in the synagogues but went out and took the gospel to the needy on the highways and the byways.
