I am a resident of George Town and I have applied to every recovery group fund that Government has offered Caymanians for help.
I applied right after the hurricane for help and it has been eight months and I have not received any help from any of these groups.
All you can hear is that it’s with the board or it has not been look at as yet.
A member of Bodden Town who was running for Bodden Town helped me, not because he was running, but because he was willing to help a fellow Caymanian. He helped me get some appliances, which I desperately needed for my home.
Were the recovery funds put together to help Caymanians first and then everyone else in Cayman?
Some people who work at Government offices and at the recovery fund have looked out only for their families and friends. What about the people who do not have those families or friends to help?
Not every Caymanian has a big time job or has people who will give them money or is getting money from the Government. I would think the recovery groups were here to help people who did not have insurance, but I have seen people helped who have already been paid off by their insurance companies.
These recovery groups know half of their friends who received money from insurance and they still help them.
Why isn’t a list published for all to see who has received money and how much?
Millions were given to East End, but how much of it will the Caymanian people of East End see it?
