I am a young Caymanian who has been following the campaigns of the parties running in the current election.
I would just like to voice my disdain for the three parties the PPM, PDA and UDP who instead of discussing the issues spend their political meetings slandering each other’s name and talking about what they have accomplished in comparison with what their opposition has failed to do.
These men and women are acting worse than teenagers and need to consider the fact that they are to be setting an example for future leaders of the country and that so far they are not doing a very good job.
As for those members in the parties who do not slander I would like to tell you that you are in the same boat as those who do, because you sit back and watch.
I’d rather have a leader that can turn the other cheek than one who does not know how to be mature.
In these last few days before the election I would like to hear the parties talk about the issues facing our island, such as decreasing traffic, gun control, and restoring our islands.
I also would like to see them do and not say what changes they can or will make but start now before they get into office.
I hope for these islands’ sake that in the next election we have worthy candidates, true leaders and not immature teenagers.
