Liquor-license holders are reminded that bars are not permitted to have music and dancing on Sundays.
However, restaurants and hotels are permitted to have pre-recorded music of a soft background nature, not to be heard beyond the boundaries of the property on which the music is played. Dancing is not permitted, according to a Government Information Services press release.
‘It is imperative that our license holders adhere to the regulations of the law,’ said Board Chairman Mitchell Welds, referring to the Music and Dancing Control Law.
‘We have been receiving complaints and this blatant disregard of the law cannot be ignored. If it is a matter of misinterpreting the law, now is the time to clear up any confusion because this abuse will no longer be tolerated.’
