Tuesday’s opening of the Lazzari Memorabilia Exhibition at Heritage House marked the start of a series of events planned for the Cayman Brac landmark.
Members of the Lazzari family and government officials, who wrap up a week-long official visit today, were on hand for the launch and evening reception.
The Lazzari exhibit continues to noon Saturday, with guided tours of the House and grounds.
Mondays through Wednesdays, thereafter, videos depicting ‘Ole time Cayman Brac’ and the sinking of the former Russian destroyer, renamed the MV Capt. K. P. Tibbetts, will be featured, as well as guided tours.
Thursdays through Saturdays, Heritage House will feature exhibitions by Brac artists, including watercolour and oil paintings, stipple art, Caymanite carvings, crochet, canvas art and thatch craft. Artists will be on hand to demonstrate their skills.
September through December will feature a Talent Exposition, Vintage Tea Party, Old-Time Fashion Show, Heritage Month, Collections and Reflections as well as other social events.
