Upgraded Squash Club opens

South Sound Squash Club bounced back into action on Saturday and in better shape than ever

Almost exactly one year after being badly damaged by Hurricane Ivan, the club held its grand re-opening.

Governor Mr. Bruce Dinwiddy, Sports Minister Alden McLaughlin and Leader of Government Business Kurt Tibbetts were among those on hand to cast an eye over the first rate set-up.

Mr. Tibbetts said that the club had had the resilience to bounce back and to become an even better facility.

Mr. Dinwiddy cut the ribbon to open court three and hit the first ball with junior player Claire Pat-rick.

There were also exhibition matches and free lessons.

Remarks were made by master of ceremonies Ian Patrick, chairman Barry Yetton and Huw St. J. Moses of sponsors Appleby Spurling Hunter.
