The Department of Public Health has released the latest statistics on immunization coverage in the Cayman Islands.
According to Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kiran Kumar, Cayman’s immunization coverage continues to be in line with World Health Organization targets, and were recorded at the following levels in 2004:
• Polio 92%
• DPT (diphtheria/whooping cough/tetanus) 92 per cent
• Hib (Haemophilus influenza b) 92 per cent

• MMR (measles/mumps/rubella-1st dose) 87 per cent
• BCG (tuberculosis) 92 per cent
• Hepatitis B (3 doses) 77 per cent
• Varicella (chicken pox) 81 per cent.
