The Brac chapter of the National Trust is holding a Heritage Festival and open house this Saturday at the Eldemire House.
The festival, says Brac Trust chair Martin Keeley, not only celebrates our heritage but will also give Brackers a chance to take a look around this historic building, which still retains much of the atmosphere which made it a centre of the community for several decades. The house was donated to the Trust earlier this summer by the Eldemire family.
In addition to tours of the house conducted by Bruce Eldemire and Brac Trust members, a heritage festival will take place on its grounds with entertainment from the Brac Kitchen Band and the Brac High School pans.
There will also be free fish and fritters as well as a host of other cultural events including a rope making demonstration and old-time games.
The festival runs from 2-6pm.
